A Memorial Tree to Victims of Khojali Tragedy at ASUE
On February 25 Commemoration Ceremony devoted to the 23rd anniversary of Khojali Genocide was held at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. The administrative teaching and the student staffs of the higher institution participated at the event.
The event began with a minute of silence to honor the victims of the tragedy. Then a short film about the Khojali Massacre was demonstrated for the participants. A literary composition prepared by ASUE students were of great interest by the participants of the event.
The ceremony went on visiting a memorial tree to the victims of the Khojali Genocide in the yard of the second training building of ASUE. The victims’ names were engraved to the leaves of the tree. Rector of ASUE, Dr Adalat Muradov noted that the political and legal assessment to Khojali Tragedy had been given with the efforts by our National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The promoting policy of the disaster to the international community continues to this day by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Afterwards the paintings of ASUE students were displayed.
A chain of events to promote the Khojali Massacre among the students had been held at the university. “Khojali Disaster” corners were created in the entrances of all training buildings of ASUE. Documentary films dedicated to the tragedy were demonstrated by the monitors installed in the corridors. February issue of the newspaper “Igtisadchi” is entirely devoted to Khojali Genocide; articles about the massacre were published. First classes on February 26 are to be devoted to Khojali Genocide within the events.
