In the competition organized at UNEC, the associate professor, pro-rector for work with students Saadat Gandilova noted that, 11 teams from 36 students of the university participated in the competition. Each team will present their business ideas related to different areas.
Rashad Azizov, Head of the Information Society and Innovative Development of and Electronic Governance Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies, who participated in the event, spoke about the work done to expand the startup movement in the country, and stressed the successful results achieved in this area in recent years. Noting that, there are dozens of young people who have ideas today, but they have difficulty in designing, Ramiz Azizov underlined the necessity of identifying these young people and bringing together the new innovative projects. He said that, the startup competition held by the UNEC played the important role in this direction.
The head of Strategic Development Section of the UNEC International Cooperation Department, the teacher of “International Economics” (English speaking) chair, the head of the “ISE Start-up Club” Turan Suleymanov said that, there had been conducting trainings for students on the topics of creating the business ideas, financing, marketing, and noted that the offered startups cover the different aspects and meet the requirements of the day.
The Head of the UNEC Career Center Ramil Jabbarov spoke about the startup projects that had implemented at UNEC. Noting the activity of the Innovative Business Incubator at UNEC, R.Jabbarov said that there were all opportunities for training of young managers and entrepreneurs, providing training and methodological, material-technical, psychological and financial support to startups. Stressing the confidence in the growth of investors who will benefit the country’s economy, the head of the UNEC IBI also spoke about the ways to turn the idea into the startup. Then the students presented their startup projects. The “Cancarryou”, “Football Union”, “iFood”, “edulife.az” and “Boomerang” projects have been selected the winners.
The winners were awarded with the prizes of the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies.
At the same time, they have the right to participate in the republican finals of the “I2Bfrom Idea to Business” Startup Competition.
