UNEC Rector has met with Presidential scholars
Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov met with Presidential scholars who entered the university in 2019/2020 academic year.
The rector congratulated the students on the high results they have showed in the entrance exams and wished them success in their education.
Adalat Muratov said the number of Presidential scholars entering UNEC increased 21 times compared to the last five years. He said that this year 87.5% (21 persons) of the students granted on Presidential scholars for the II specialty group had chosen UNEC. He said he was proud to have UNEC ranked first this year for the number of Presidential scholars as in previous year among universities included in the Ministry of Education.
The rector also spoke about the goals of “UNEC-100 Development Strategy”: “We aim to raise the university’s average point to 500 till the 100th anniversary of UNEC. At present this point is 436. It is gratifying that in recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of enrollees with high scores and choosing UNEC. UNEC maintains its leadership in the number of enrollees scoring high points for the II specialty group. This year the 74 percent of the students who have scored 600 and more points have gained the name of the student of UNEC.
Adalat Muradov informed the students about the exam session, its organization and rules. He said that UNEC had applied the E-University model and that the training was completely electronic.
The rector who spoke about the innovations applied at UNEC in the direction of establishment of student-centered university, urged the students to be initiative. He said he was open to listening to every student’s suggestions and initiatives to improve the quality of the education.
It was also dealt about special and the second honors scholarships, exchange and dual diploma programs with the leading universities of the world. It was noted that UNEC is implementing 8 dual diploma programs with leading US and European universities.
Students were also informed about innovative and operative “One Window” service to the students. It is recommended that students who have special talents and for spending their leisure time efficiently should make use of the opportunities of Radio UNEC, Creative Center and Sports Club and be active in the university’s social life.
At the end memorable gifts were presented to the presidential scholars.
