Virtual Enterprise will play an important role in UNEC students’ career development
Opening of a virtual business begun to perform within the joint “Social Protection Development Project” of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the World Bank at Azerbaijan State University of Economics took place on November 18.
The Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Salim Muslimov, UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, Head of the Azerbaijan Representation of the World Bank Larisa Leshenko, the university teaching and student staffs’ members as well as the other guests took part at the opening.
UNEC’s Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and the World Bank for their assistance in establishing the Virtual Business. He said the Virtual Business aims to improve the interactive teaching and develop business skills. At the same time it aims to demonstrate the realities of the daily business life and labor market to UNEC undergraduates and graduates of UNEC within the Practice Company/Virtual Business. Rector noted that the Virtual Business will play a significant role in the participants’ obtaining practical skills and abilities, in strengthening theoretical knowledge into practice, in developing their labor activity and in the presentation of corporate values. A. Muradov highlighted that the Virtual Business will soon be established in all academic buildings of the university.
The Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov underlined the importance of establishing the vocational and major training in accordance with the terms of policy directed to the development of human capital and possessing practical and formed business skills along with the specialized knowledge by the undergraduate and graduate students. M.Jabbarov spoke about the significance of the Virtual Enterprise in realization and improving the undergraduate and graduate students’ professional skills. He also added that the Virtual Business will play an important role in the career fate of the students.
The Minister of Labor and Social Protection Salim Muslimov said that active employment measures implemented by the Ministry are an important direction focused on the students. Noting the provision of youth employment and the work done in involving them to vocational training and continuing education the Minster said that active employment measures will be continued under the motto “First Step in Career”. UNEC’s students and alumni will function at the Virtual Business, as an experience enterprise, as well as the real workplace and master practical skills and habits within the requirements of the labor market related with their majors. As a result, they will be easily able to take their place in the labor market in future.
Head of the Azerbaijani representative of the World Bank Larisa Leshenko expressed confidence in success of this new practice implemented in our university. She wished success to the newly created Virtual Business.
Then they examined the activity of the Virtual Business. Delivering the general information about the enterprise, it was noted the reception of 40 students will be able during the day. This in turn means that 200 students in a week will benefit from the project. Practice will be held within the 3 months for each team. Students will be prepared in accordance with the requirement of the labor market, getting trained on the economic legislation, the right of commerce, banking, international accounting standards and other issues. The participants will be created the conditions to obtain the up-to-date software used in financial and accounting departments of enterprises and use them in practice. They will carry out different financial, accounting, tax and banking operations and make market researches in accordance with the standards of the enterprise during the internship. In addition, they will establish partnership and business relations with virtual enterprises in various countries and will offer the company’s services. This will help them grow as the creative managers of international business environment.
Finally, the online model of the trading business transaction was carried out with one of the European virtual businesses as an example.
