Director of UNEC Library-Information Center PhD in History Adila Abdullayeva and the director of the Digital Technologies Department, Zaur Aziz, are participating in the “International Library Leaders -2024” program organized by the British Library.

UNEC employees selected from more than 300 applicants from different countries of the world participated in various trainings within the program. In addition to Azerbaijan, leading library and information technology specialists from countries such as the USA, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Brazil, Peru, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Malaysia, and India participate in the program.

On the first day of the program, there were made rich books, newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, atlases, maps and globes, audiovisual materials, microfilm, microfiche and other rare collections of the British Library, their digitization, restoration of cyber security, metadata, implementation of projects with local and international partners, racial equality, presentations of international experts on the organization of pilot projects on diversity and inclusion, digitization were shown. At the same time, the activities of the participating libraries, their future strategies, the work done on sustainable and sustainable development of the libraries and existing gaps, as well as their solutions, were discussed and suggestions.

The program will continue until July 11.
