Ambassador highly appreciates the Establishment of Russian School of Economics at UNEC
On May 19 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Vladimir Dorokhin has visited Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
UNEC Rector Adalat Muradov noted the goal of the meeting was to exchange views on the prospects of Russia- Azerbaijan relations, as well as the cooperation issues among the educational institutions of both countries.
Rector delivered detailed information about the mutual cooperation Program with the National Research University of Russia “Higher School of Economics”. He said the Dual Diploma Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Programs in Russian between the two higher education institutions and the bilateral undergraduate and graduate students’ and the teaching staff’s exchange was being continued.
A.Muradov has spoken about the establishment of “Russian School of Economics” at UNEC. He noted that training of the disciplines on various areas of economy would be realized at UNEC. The Russian Professors will be invited to lecture to Russian speaking students of the School.
Expressing the satisfaction of his visit to UNEC, the Ambassador spoke about Russian-Azerbaijani relation. He said after the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to power the relations between the both countries has changed to positive direction. Now there is mutual understanding between our countries. The Ambassador emphasized the Russia- Azerbaijan relations as one of the most successful models of post- soviet area. He pointed these relations to serve the national interests of both countries and be the main factor of regional stability. Russian is interested in maintaining the trusted neighbor in the south.
Vladimir Dorokhin answered UNEC students’ questions on Daghlig Garabagh conflict. According to him, Russia is in favor of the fair settlement of the conflict in accordance with international law. Relations between the two countries differ not only with lack of mutual understanding, but also the fundamental differences in the assessment of the position of third countries. The Ambassador also responded the participants’ questions on the processes taking place in the world oil markets, the effect of drop in prices for black gold to Russian and Azerbaijan economies. Considering the interest in Russian language as an obvious example of friendly relations between the two countries V.Dorokhin said that they are ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan side to support the education process.
Highly appreciating the establishment of Russian School of Economics at UNEC, the diplomat drew his satisfaction of this step to give positive results. “I am confident that the meetings will continue. I am pleased of interacting with UNEC students, exchanging my ideas, knowledge and experience with them” said the Ambassador.
