Totals of 2015/2016 academic year have been discussed at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov spoke about the work done within a year. Mentioning the structural changes, Rector added that the process will be completed until the end of the academic year. Our goal is to start the work with the structures meet the modern requirements.
Saying “We pretend to create education classer at UNEC for the first time in Azerbaijan”, A.Muradov spoke about the affairs held at the branches of the University: “A license for Darband Branch of UNEC has been provided by the Ministry of Science and Education of Russia in November of 2015. This year student admission to Darband branch will be implemented on a legal basis.
To meet the need of highly qualified personnel for socio-economic development of regions, to expand young people’s access to quality higher education living in the regions in their chosen majors, as well as to increase the efficiency of utilization of available logistical and personnel resources of higher education institutions Zagatala Branch of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University has been given to UNEC with the order signed by the President Ilham Aliyev. 200 places are offered for the student admission to Zagatala Branch in a new academic year. Admission on General Economy, Business, Finance and Accounting will be carried out at the branch”.
Rector noted that he considers as one of the most remarkable events of 2015/2016 academic year the Model of “E- University” of the main academic building of UNEC held as a pilot project: “The E_ University system is the model distinguishing UNEC. Today the “E- University” Model is successfully applied in 57 lecture rooms of the academic building. The system will be applied in other two academic buildings since the new academic year. But the III academic building will be destroyed and instead the building meeting the modern requirements will be constructed within 24 months”.
Speaking about the Differential Salary System applied for the first time at UNEC, Rector noted all the indicators of the system will be announced to public on July 1.
Rector talked about UNEC students’ opportunities to get additional diploma of international degree. At the same time, he stressed the students’ chance of joining the dual diploma program with the prestigious University of Montpellier of France from the new academic year.
Vice-rector for Education and Training Technologies, Professor Damat Baghirov made a report on the results of 2015/2016 academic year. Speaking about the preparation for the exam session, he pointed that the operation of “Hotline” service of the university would be strengthened and headquarters will be created in all academic buildings to ensure the transparency and objectivity. The testing process would be open for the public.
Director of the Center for Assessment and Management of the Quality of Education Ragif Gasimov made a report on the data downloaded by the teaching staff to the system of “E-University”. He said only 60 percent of the teaching staff on the School of Finance and Accounting have used the system actively. R. Gasimov also announced that the teaching staff will be trained on the system’s usage and preparation of presentations starting from June 15.
Information about the empty classes, replacement of the teaching staff on valid or invalid reasons was also delivered within the event. Rector instructed the Department of Audit to submit the weekly report on empty classes to the Heads of Departments hereinafter.
After hearing details about the distribution of teaching loads in a new academic year and faculty hours, it was noted that the administrative staff can take only 0.5 staff teaching. It was also instructed that the teachers’ syllabuses should be installed on the site. It was discussed that the students’ assessment would be improved on some criteria starting from the new academic year.
