Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Professor Adalat Muradov has met with the Quality Ambassadors on October 28.
Rector said that the affairs done to improve the quality of teaching at UNEC are in progress. The role of the quality ambassadors in more effective management of the process and defining the existing problems in this field is undeniable. Saying “Our goal is to monitor the quality of education provided to students”, Rector special attention should be paid to the teaching staff’s usage level of the Electronic University Model and entering their teaching materials on their personal cabinet. Trainings might also be organized to teachers in connection with the electronic university model. The participants’ attention was brought to the fact of turning the e-stands into operation before the lessons start. It was proposed to assign it to the monitors of the groups.
The organization of the “Winter School” in the direction of improving teachers’ professional performances was also announced within the meeting.
The Director of the Center for Assessment and Management of the Quality of Education, Assistant Professor Ragif Gasimov made a report on the monitoring of the teaching materials, lecture texts, tests conducted by the quality ambassadors and proposed a project in the direction of adapting the teaching materials with the world standards.
It was said that the quality ambassadors will be provided with distinguishing badges. They will carry out the monitoring of lessons in all buildings of UNEC. Monitoring of lessons in UNEC’s Zagatala Branch and Financial- economic College is also planned.
The quality ambassadors’ proposals on increasing the quality of teaching at UNEC were heard in the end.
Note: The quality ambassadors have been performing since 2015/2016 academic year at UNEC. The ability of using the e- university portal, becoming familiar with modern teaching methodology and interactive learning process are the main criteria in determining the Quality Ambassadors. The compliance of teaching with the topics indicated on the curricula and syllabuses, texts if lectures, interactive training aids, teachers’ surveillance on the subject, optimal management of the training process, current situation in organizing seminars and lectures, explanation of practical examples on the subject in the seminars, preparation of colloquiums and other indicators are included into the criteria assessed during the monitoring. Proposals for the teachers’ training needs to teach in more high- level, harmonizing and improvement the syllabuses of the subjects with international standards are being developed.
