UNEC is the first for the activity of the participants of EHEA Twinning Project

Representatives of the Accreditation and Nostrification Office of the Ministry of Education, international and local education experts of the Project visited UNEC within the Twinning Project on “Support to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the adaptation of Higher Education System to the European Higher Education Area” (EHEA).

The delegation met with the rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, vice-rectors and heads of centers of UNEC that is chosen a pilot university in connection with the application of new accreditation rules.

UNEC Rector provided the delegation with the information about the university and work done in the direction of improving the quality of teaching and expanding international cooperation. Especially stressing the dual diploma programs successfully carried out with the world’s prestigious universities and involvement of the young teaching staff studied abroad to teaching, Rector informed the participants about the new success of the university: “UNEC has become the first of the country, according to the latest results of uniRank for 2017 which defines the web popularization of the world universities. I am confident that UNEC’s ranking as a pilot university for the implementation of the new standards and guidelines on quality provision will serve to increasing quality of training at the university”. A.Muradov revealed the priorities of the university: “To improve the scientific capacity of the teaching staff, to involve best entrants to the university and to transform UNEC into the scientific research center”.

Rector said that the experts would have the opportunity to benefit from all activity field of UNEC to carry out the assessment in connection with the project.

The international experts who indicated the evaluation of the pilot project as an objective of the meeting, emphasized that UNEC is in the first place for the activeness of the participants of EHEA Twinning Project. Experts informed about the assessment criteria which are developed as a basic part of the project and that they will observe the application mechanism of these criteria.  

Meeting went on with discussions.                                                                

Note that the evaluation of the project is fulfilled in four stages: defining and training the international assessment group, implementation of self-analysis by the higher education institution, traveling to higher education institution and publishing report.
