ABOUT US:

UNEC Center for Multiculturalism was established in accordance with the Decision 151 of the Academic Council of the Azerbaijan State  University of Economics (UNEC) dated April 28, 2017 and the order of the UNEC Rector No 292/3/2017 dated May 18, 2017.

OUR PURPOSE:

Carrying out of scientific researches on directions of the humanities and social sciences, and also theoretical and practical researches and directions of multicultural models of Azerbaijan and existing multicultural models, to share the results of research with the scientific environment, the society, to carry out research and projects; cooperate with representatives of research centers, institutes, universities and related organizations within and outside the country; Establishment of scientific relations with the centers of multiculturalism of foreign countries for the promotion of multiculturalism traditions in the territory of Azerbaijan from ancient times to the present; , preparation of exchange programs and joint projects, preparation of national and international grant projects.

OBJECTIVES:

 Study the historical roots of modern multiculturalism traditions in Azerbaijan and the modern legal, political, and economic bases; research and promotion of the cultural, social, political, and economic essence of Azerbaijan, where multiculturalism and tolerance have become a way of life; providing ethno-cultural diversity in the development of Azerbaijanis in the Republic of Azerbaijan; as well as carrying out scientific analysis of tolerant bases of cultural and religious diversity in the Republic of Azerbaijan; to learn about the cultural heritage of different regions, activities to support the preservation of history, culture and religious monuments;

Informing the young generation about the work done in the field of protection of multicultural traditions in the Republic of Azerbaijan;  working with UNEC faculties and departments to promote and propagation of   inter-religious, interreligious respect and trust in young people;

Search for ancient cultural traces in different regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the relevant scientific institutions, implementation of local and international projects in the direction of preservation and scientific study of cultural, ethnographic heritage by collecting.

Organization of round tables and mass-scientific seminars, lectures, meetings, exhibitions and other cultural events at UNEC on issues of intercultural understanding and cultural diversity;

OUR TEAM

OUR PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS:

Organization of cooperation with educational centers of the Republic and abroad in the direction of research and promotion of ideas of multiculturalism; implementation of scientific exchanges in the direction of multiculturalism with humanities faculties of  universities, organization of lectures of specialists in special courses.

Carrying out the necessary measures for the Center’s scientific research activities – scientific analysis of the basics of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan; to organize scientific expeditions to work on theoretical and practical research and promotion of existing multicultural models;

To organize courses, seminars, round tables, meetings, exhibitions, competitions, festivals, conferences, charity marathons and other mass-cultural events in accordance with the mission of the centre at UNEC

Organization of scientific-methodological exchange and theoretical-practical relations, exchange programs and joint projects with universities, scientific research centers in the country and abroad, within the framework of multiculturalism measures within the country and abroad; preparation of national and international grant projects, implementation of international cooperation;

Carrying out of analyzes, researches and generalizations by attracting experts to work of the Center, , preparation of analytical materials, organization of round tables and scientific seminars, lectures in various directions

Organization of   implementation of research activities of the Center in the field of Multiculturalism and publication of printed editions in the form of books, booklets and articles in the form of scientific and methodical aids, teaching aids  and textbooks;

OUR GOAL:

To study and promote the legal, political and economic foundations of cultural diversity and trends in the development of multiculturalism and historical traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan;

Collaboration with UNEC faculty and departments to implement joint projects with UNEC faculty and students to explore, promote   our national-spiritual values and multicultural traditions;

Carrying out round tables and scientific seminars, lectures on intercultural understanding and cultural diversity; organization of expert lectures at UNEC;

Organization of scientific expeditions on directions of studying of multiculturalism of Azerbaijan and studying of existing multicultural models;

The study and promotion of  various cultures, rich joint traditions and common moral values in Azerbaijan in the field of research and promotion of multiculturalism; organizing courses, seminars, lectures, round tables, meetings, exhibitions, competitions, festivals, conferences, charitable marathons and other cultural events at UNEC in a number of areas such as intercultural understanding and cultural diversity;

Interaction with local and foreign organizations, public and international organizations, as well as with universities, scientific research centers of the Republic and abroad, promotion of multicultural achievements of the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad.

Organization of lectures by specialists on the implementation of scientific exchanges in the direction of multiculturalism with humanitarian-oriented faculties of higher education institutions;

Organization of writing of  scientific-theoretical researches, methodological materials, teaching materials, textbooks on the study of the historical roots of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, the multicultural environment, the ideas of tolerance for universities

Implementation of research activities of the Center in the field of multiculturalism and publication of gained results   in the form of books, booklets, scientific journals;

To make presentations at domestic and international conferences and inform the scientific community in order to identify the main directions of Azerbaijani multiculturalism in the Republic of Azerbaijan and abroad;

Organization of international events, scientific seminars, round tables, conferences, symposiums on promotion of Azerbaijan multiculturalism in the world.
