The members of the UNEC Public Supervisory Board also attended the meeting. The rector of UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov expressed his gratitude to the members of the Board for their support in provoding the objective and transparent winter semester. It was noted that, the UNEC Public Supervisory Board would be operated throughout the entire academic year at the university and the management of one speciality would be entrusted tovthem completely.
İn the meeting, the prorector in Education and Training Technologies of UNEC, professor Damet Baghirov made the report on the outcomes of the winter examination session. The prorector said that in the winter examination session had been achieved the higher results in comparison with the previous years. The prorector emphasized that the examination in the subject “Introduction to the Economics” had been provided in the written form for the first time, and he evaluated as positive the completion of exams of 53% of the students with good and excellent grades.
Then, the coordinator of the UNEC Public Supervisory Board, the head of the Training Center Public Unity “XXI Century” Etibar Aliyev drew attention to the fact that, the members of the board had observed three exam sessions at UNEC. He highly appreciated ensuring the objectivity and transparency in the exams: “When we analyze our observations, we see that UNEC is constantly moving forward towards its target more confidently in comparison with the last years”.
E.Aliyev also commented on the results of anonymous survey conducted by the UNEC Public Supervisory Board among the students within the winter examination session. He noted that, the questionnaire consisted of 10 questions, which envisaged studying the attitude of respondents towards the organization of exams, ensuring the objectivity, the process of teaching, the quality of the questions and the compatability with the topics taught, providing the examinations in the written form, students satisfaction, etc. The obtained results gave the ground to say that, the students highly appreciated the reforms applied at UNEC.
The Scientific Council discussed the measures taken to transform UNEC into the research oriented university. For taking the purposeful steps in this direction, was decided to abolish the Science and Innovations Center and the Science Department, and to establish on their basis the Department for Organization and Management of Scientific Activites. At the same time, taking into account the scientific interests of teachers, was decided to establish the Monetary Economic Research Center, the Economic Clinic and the Council for Women Researchers. The Project Management division was established within the International Coopertaion Department. The center for Disabled Students was replaced by the Center for Development of Inclusive Education.
