The director of RIM, docent Mansur Barkhudarov, who opened the event with an opening speech, said that the purpose of the meeting with our respected intellectuals was to discuss the messages given to the society by the head of the country, President Ilham Aliyev in his interview with television channels earlier this year, and to discuss the issues he raised before the intellectuals. In his interview, Mr. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that a sacred mission that united the people of Azerbaijan as one fist for many years – the liberation of our occupied territories – was achieved, large-scale restoration works were carried out there, and from this perspective, in the world that is experiencing geopolitical upheavals in new conditions, what path will Azerbaijan choose, what ideas and actions will be guided by highlighting it as a matter of hope, he called on Azerbaijani scientists and intellectuals to be active in this matter. The organizer of the event invited our intellectuals to freely express their opinions on this topic.
Professor Fuad Mammadov thanked the organizers for organizing such a meeting on this urgent issue. He emphasized the importance of cultural analysis in society and management in order to protect and develop Azerbaijan in the rapidly changing and chaotic world in the 21st century. F. Mammadov, who prepared the concept of culture that includes science and education along with other fields and presented it to relevant institutions, spoke about the danger of defeat in the modern world with sharp competitiveness of a society without double wings such as intellectual culture and national-spiritual values, in the image of Simurgh bird.
In support of the professor’s views on the role of education, Shamistan Nazirli spoke about the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s struggle for the development of military education in Azerbaijan. Those who did not understand the essence of this work, which was started decades ago, expressed their admiration for the foresight of the National leader after our brilliant victory in the last Karabakh war.
Poet-journalist Tapdig Alibeyli, researcher-journalist Hikmet Aliyev, Parviz Samadov, who is an expert on international relations, focused on the idea of Turkism and the Turanian world, and emphasized that the path of this world passes through Zangezur, Western Azerbaijan in one form or another. They talked about the importance of educating young people in a national-patriotic spirit in the informational struggle with Armenian radical nationalism, which was completely defeated in the military field, and its patrons.
The dean of the Faculty of Economics of the Turkic World, Professor Mehmet Yüce, stated that Azerbaijan is the flagship of the Turkic world in many parameters, but in order to ensure its stability and development dynamism, he made concrete proposals in several areas: in the economic field, in local self-government, and in the legal field.
At the end of the interesting discussion, Mansur Barkhudarov spoke about the need to take advantage of the Japanese model as an idea that defines the future horizons of Azerbaijan, taking into account the local characteristics: that is, paying attention to education and science on a special, conceptual basis for the formation of a technological and intellectual society, in parallel, on the one hand, national and moral values. Turkism, on the other hand, has been inculcated into the society based on multiculturalism, and as “Developed, tolerant Azerbaijan” has brought attention to its rightful place among the progressive states of the world. M. Barkhudarov, who spoke about the importance of developing this approach in separate fields, by developing its systematic elements, highly appreciated the concept put forward by F. Mammadov in this matter. At the end, all participants of the event were thanked for coming to UNEC and sharing their valuable opinions, and the importance of holding meetings in this direction was emphasized.
