The event was attended by the rector of UNEC Professor Adalat Muradov, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek, MPs, and other guests.
Rector Adalat Muradov said he was proud that the presentation of the book prepared by Türkiye’s Ahmet Yesevi University coincided with the restoration of Karabakh’s sovereignty, as well as the foundation of projects of great importance for the Turkic world. He pointed out that the encyclopedic dictionary contains information about 14,700 poets and writers of the Turkic world, and 1,500 researchers-scientists participated in the creation of the 20-volume dictionary. Prof. Adalat Muradov said that the book will be a considerable contribution to the development of cultural relations of the Turkic world.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University, head of the project Prof. Dr. Muhittin Şimşek drew attention to the fact that the Turkish Language Conference was held for the first time in Türkiye on September 26, 1932, and said that it was an honor to hold the presentation on that day. The professor continued his speech at the opening of the congress with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s statement, “The Turkish language is one of the richest languages, as long as this language is used with awareness.”
Drawing attention to the importance of books in the transmission of Turkish culture from generation to generation, M. Şimşek said that the book contains 15,000 articles about poets and authors of Turkish literature who wrote and created in the 13th and 21st centuries. The Turkish professor continued his speech with interesting ideas about the cultural values of the Turkish world.
MPs attending the meeting Fazil Mustafa, Fatma Yildirim, director of the National Library Karim Tahirov, director of “Qanun” publishing house Shahbaz Khuduoglu, department head of Baku International Multiculturalism Center Rashad Ilyasov spoke about the importance of the book. The guests drew attention to the great role of culture in the development of nations and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Turkic world in all fields, as well as in literature. Speakers said that the return to books and language in Azerbaijan is connected with the name of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and noted that this tradition is being successfully continued now thanks to the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev. They noted the importance of the encyclopedic dictionary in terms of studying the richness of the Turkish language.
