The forum was attended by the deputy minister of science and education Hasan Hasanli, director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, rectors of local higher education institutions, Elmaddin Mehdiyev, the head of the International Development Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamilla Hajiyeva, deputy head of the main department for regulating migration processes of the State Migration Service, educators, international experts, and foreign students.
The purpose of the forum is to transition to a more productive model of the traditional meeting with local higher education institutions at the end of each year, to present a report on the education of foreigners in Azerbaijan for the 2023/2024 academic year, to discuss the development of universities in the field of internationalization, as well as to encourage universities that stand out in the field of work with foreigners on the Action Plan for 2023.
Neman Muradli, the vice-rector for international relations and programs of UNEC, who participated in the first panel session of the forum, participated in discussions and answered questions on the topics of attracting foreign students to higher education institutions of our country, participation in international ranking tables and accreditation of programs.
At the event, UNEC was awarded a “Thank you note” by the Ministry of Science and Education for its achievements in the ranking of the country’s higher education institutions on the mobility indicators of foreign students in Azerbaijan. Ethiopian citizen Abrehet Mehari Gebreselassi, a PhD student of UNEC, was also awarded a “Thank you note” for his academic achievements.
Handicrafts of foreign students of the Design School of UNEC were also exhibited at the forum.
