The first lessons taught at UNEC on February 26 were dedicated to Khojaly genocide.
The goal of lessons, organized according to the “Action Plan for celebrating the twenty sixth anniversary of the Khojaly genocide”, approved by the order of the Ministry of Education, is to provide the young generation with the detailed information about the Khojaly genocide, one of the most horrible tragedies of the twentieth century, and to convey them the truth about the genocide.
The lessons in all campuses of UNEC, in Zagatala branch and Azerbaijan Financial Economics College under UNEC began with a minute of silence for the memory of the martyrs and victims of the Khojaly genocide died for the sake of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. At the lesson the students were told about geographical location, historical and cultural monuments, and the outstanding personalities of Khojaly. At the same time, the statistical information was given on the killed, injured, missing, hostagees inhabitants and the detailed information about the genocide perpetrators.
It should be noted that, in all the faculties of UNEC, in Zagatala Branch and the Azerbaijan Financial Economics College under UNEC were held the series of events dedicated to the 26-th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. The students were informed in details about the graded genocide policy of Armenians against the Azerbaijani people. The measures, implemented within the framework of the international awareness campaign “Justice for Khojaly” provided on the initiative of the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation were spoken about.
The foreign students of UNEC, calling the Khojaly genocide the crime against humanity, said that they were very impressed with the commemorative tree raised to the memory of the victims of the genocide. The citizen of Afghanistan Mohammad Wahidulla said that, carving the name of every victim of the tragedy on the 613 leaves of the tree was very impressive: “I remember them with respect when passing by this tree, and regret that in the war the lives of so many innocent people were incomplete at their death. I think the world should not tolerate this injustice”.
