The delegation, comprising UNEC’s Vice-Rector for International Relations and Programs, Huseyn Hasanov; Head of the Internship Organization Department, Leyla Nazirzada; and Director of the Career Center, Sevinj Majid, visited Hungary’s Milton Friedman University (Milton Friedman Egyetem).
The UNEC delegation held discussions with Milton Friedman University’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Development, Associate Professor Peter Szatmari; Head of the Department of Business Studies and Management, Professor Henrietta Nad; Head of the Department of International and Political Studies, Professor György Iván Nesmel; Head of the Department of Computer Science, Professor Vid Szebasztian Honfi, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the representatives of Milton Friedman University expressed their keen interest in attracting Hungarian students to UNEC as international students. The discussions also encompassed collaborative efforts between Azerbaijani and Hungarian scholars, particularly in the preparation of joint scientific articles. As a preliminary step, both parties welcomed the proposal to host an international hybrid scientific conference in March 2025, which received mutual support.
The discussions further emphasized Milton Friedman University’s advancements in the fields of information technology and cybersecurity. It was noted that UNEC students could benefit from these experiences, including opportunities to obtain internationally recognized certifications. Moreover, both universities explored avenues for cooperation in international exchange programs, such as Erasmus, and joint efforts to secure grant funding. Experiences regarding successful participation in international university rankings were also exchanged as part of the collaboration discussions. In addition, UNEC’s academic representatives delivered guest lectures to students on topics including Career Planning, Soft Skills, and Hard Skills, providing valuable expertise in these critical areas.
As part of their visit, the UNEC delegation toured the lecture halls, seminar rooms, and libraries of Milton Friedman University, gaining insights into the facilities and infrastructure provided for students. They were also introduced to various social projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the student experience.
