Doctor of historical sciences, prof. Hasanov Vakil Safiyar
He was born in 1957.
In 1976-1981 he graduated from the history faculty of Baku State University. After graduating from high school, he began working at the Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 1981. In 1981-1988 he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the same institute and in 1988-1989 as a junior researcher. In 1988, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences.
In 1989-1990 he worked as an instructor at the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute.
He has been working at Azerbaijan State University of Economics since October 1990.
1990-1992 – Lecturer at the “History of Azerbaijan” department of the University;
In 1992-1994 he worked as a senior teacher.
From 1994 to 2012 he held the position of associate professor at the same department.
In 2008 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences. Since February 2012, he has been working as a professor at the “History of Azerbaijan” department.
Since May 2017, he has been the Head of the Humanities Department at UNEC.
He is a member of the expert council of the “History and Political Sciences” section of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He was awarded the Medal for Merit in Trade Unions in 2011 for his close participation in the work of the Republican Trade Unions.
He is married and has three children.*
