About Technology Transfer Department

Technology Transfer section   of the department of Organization and Management of Scientific Activities within interests of UNEC provides the needs of regional businesses and organizations, adaptation of UNEC’s fundamental and strategic work to business needs, as well as  transformation of knowledge into technology, commercialization of the results obtained from scientific research and use them in economic processes. Legal protection of organizational services, protection and patenting of ideas and inventions are the main directions of activity of the department to stimulate technology development and innovation. At the same time, consulting, scientific – technical and training services in the field of innovation are also within the competence of the department.

The purpose of the Center is to promote the innovation activity of the country, to establish effective cooperation between universities, industry and business institutions and provision of   transfer the results obtained from the research carried out by university staff. The tasks for this purpose are:

• Realization of creating a database of innovative technologies;
• Providing advice on assessing the commercial potential of innovative technologies;

• Directing scientific research orders on innovation activities and technology transfer issues to research institutes and centers;
• Advice on legal protection of commercially significant results of intellectual creative activity;
• Evaluation of the commercialization potential of the invention and the possibility of patenting;
• Identifying potential partners, preparing and conducting negotiations;
• Protection of intellectual property rights created in research centers and institutes of the University and the establishment of partnerships of research centers with companies for this purpose;
• Develop technology-based business skills at the university, increase competitiveness, identify development strategies and manage know-how of the university;
• University promotion, establishment of mutual cooperation with foreign partners engaged in joint activities in the field of innovation and technology transfer;
• Organization of business cooperation between scientific research and higher education institutions, as well as public organizations;
• Coordination of innovative management processes, such as the protection and transfer of innovative solutions in enterprises;
• The use of inventive results generated in the research process at the initiative of the university for commercial purposes;
• Formation of supply and demand which will realize assessment of projects, strengthening of strategy on value chain creating as a result of the research of the university;
• Participation in innovation exhibitions;
• Arrange appropriate seminars, conferences and presentations.

The section was established by the order of the UNEC Rector, dated September 24, 2018, 828/3/2018 within the Department of Organization and Management of Scientific Activities.

Since   March 15, 2019 the section has been  headed by the senior lecturer of the department of “Digital Economy and ICT” Vakil Ibrahimov Hamid
