Docror of pedagogical sciences., prof. Mirzayev Seyran Salam
He was born on June 20, 1943 in the city of Zagatala.
In 1950-1960 he studied at the school No. 2 in the city of Zagatala.
In 1960 he entered Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute of Languages named after M. F. Akhundov (now Azerbaijan Slavic University).
After graduating from the same institute in 1965, he taught Russian in the secondary schools of villages of Kalbajar and Zagatala regions of Azerbaijan.
In 1970-1974, he was admitted to the graduate school of the Research Institute of Russian Language Teaching in National Schools of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences in Moscow and began teaching at Azerbaijan State Institute of Languages named after M. FAkhundov. In January 1975, he defended his dissertation in Moscow and became an associate professor.
From 1975 to 1979, he worked as a professor on the Russian language at schools in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Kabul and Mazahi Sharif, Afghanistan, and was awarded an honorary diploma by the Afghan Department of Education for his fruitful work.

He has been working at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Economics (now UNEC) since 1989. From 1989 to 1991 he worked as an associate professor of the “Russian language” department, from February 1992 to December 2001 he was the head of the department. In 1996-2004, he worked as the head of the “Languages” department and the dean of the Translation Faculty at Odlar Yurdu University.
In 1996, he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “Theory of the Russian language school textbook for non-Russian audiences.”
He is the author of programs on teaching Russian, repeatedly published textbooks “Russian language” for 5th, 7th and 10th grades. He has published about 130 scientific works, including 2 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids for 10 universities and colleges, a number of guidelines and scientific articles. He was the official opponent and reviewer of PhD and doctoral dissertations of about 40 dissertators.
In 2011, he was awarded the badge of “Excellence in Education” of the Republic of Azerbaijan (by order No. 11/927 of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 27, 2011).
He is currently a consultant professor at the Russian Language Department of UNEC.
