“April battles are the beginning of the Great Victory”
UNEC Women’s Council, Student Trade Union Committee and Economist Patriots Organization jointly organized an online event called “April battles – the beginning of the Great Victory”.
The UNEC Women’s Council Chairperson, associate professor Tarana Karimova, who opened the event with an opening speech, talked about the important steps taken in the direction of strengthening the material and technical base of the Armed Forces and building an army under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Noting that our army is among the 50 most powerful armies in the world, T. Karimova spoke about the joy of the victory of the 4-day war in the April battles and how this victory was the main harbinger of the historical victory 4 years later. He also talked about the measures implemented in UNEC to promote and promote patriotic feelings in the young generation.
Yusif Jafarbeyli, the moderator of the event, the chairman of the Organization of Economists and Patriots, spoke about the 44-day war and said that the war of truth and justice waged by our victorious army against the invading Armenian army became the embodiment of national consciousness, the unity of the people and the army.
Then Colonel Logman Khanlarov, the National Hero of Azerbaijan, a close comrade-in-arms of Polad Hashimov, made a speech. He spoke about the strength of the Azerbaijani Army, the courageous prevention of enemy provocations by counterattacking our units in April 2016, the tenacity of our fighters and the bravery of Polad Hashimov.
Participating in the event were Zamin Haziyev, director of Novruz Aslanov Jojug Marjanli village secondary school in Jabrayil district, Sabir Mirzayev, father of Mahir Mirzayev, a graduate who was martyred in the April battles, Halimakhanim Heybatova, sister of Agaami Heybatov, a martyr of the Patriotic War, deputy director of Zagatala branch of UNEC, associate professor Haqikat Gadimova, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee of UNEC Rufat Suleymanli, director of the Student Affairs Center Khalida Yusifova, teacher of UNEC Ibrahim Guliyev spoke about the victories achieved in the April battles and the Patriotic War. They said that our tricolor flag, which was raised in Lalatape 5 years ago, is now flying proudly in all the lands of Azerbaijan.
In the end, Yusif Jafarbeyli’s “Khudayar classification” performed by Yusif Jafarbeyli as a dedication to the souls of the martyrs attracted the special interest of the event participants.
