The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is celebrated at Ege University
On November 9 – Flag Day, an event was held at Aegean University on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the birth of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkey, UNEC and Aegean University of Turkey.
The event began with the video dedicated to the life of Heydar Aliyev and the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
The event was attended by the rector of Ege University rector Professor Necdet Budak, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Rashad Mammadov, the vice -rector of UNEC Associate Professor Geray Musayev, representatives of both universities, academic staff, Azerbaijani students studying at Ege University, as well as other guests.
The rector of Ege University prof. Necdet Budak expressed his pride that the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was celebrated at the university he headed. The rector said that the Republic of Turkey was the first state to recognize Azerbaijan, which declared its independence in 1991, and noted that the cooperation between the two countries under the motto “One nation, two states” is successfully developing in all fields today.
Professor Necdet Budak gave information about Ege University and pointed out that 1106 Azerbaijani students study here. He expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of the dual diploma program in “Food Engineering” between UNEC and Ege University.
The ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkey, Rashad Mammadov, spoke about the friendly and brotherly relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as the foreign policy of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in relation to Turkey. The ambassador said that the ideas of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev are the foundation of today’s successful policy continued by the country’s presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The vice-rector of UNEC, associate professor Geray Musayev, said that National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s slogan “One nation, two states” raised the relations between our countries to an unprecedented level in history. He noted that as a result of the cooperation between the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev based on brotherhood and sincerity, very valuable days are being experienced today.
Speaking about cooperation with Ege University, G.Musayev said that 20 Azerbaijani and 10 Turkish students started studying within the framework of the dual diploma program between the two universities. He emphasized that other projects will be implemented between the universities within the framework of cooperation.
Then Hasan Mart, Professor of the Faculty of Literature of Ege University made a report on the History of the establishment of Turkey and Azerbaijan, the dean of the Engineering Faculty of UNEC, Assoc. Elchin Samadov made speech about the life path of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the struggle for independence of Azerbaijan.
The event ended with the musical concert program “From the Caspian to the Aegean” prepared by the members of the UNEC Creative Center and the State Turkish Music Conservatory of the Aegean University.
