A Proposal by Quality Ambassadors: complex measures will bring results
Meeting with quality ambassador has been attended by the Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Professor Adalat Muradov. Results of the monitoring held on the Faculty of Finance and Accounting by the quality ambassadors have been announced. The Director of the Center for the Assessment and Management of the Quality of Training Ragif Gasimov has delivered the information about the problems in his report speech and the difficulties faced by the teaching staff have been emphasized especially. As a result of monitoring carried out within three weeks the positive and negative aspects of the teaching processes have been discussed and proposals to improve the education process have been heard. To hold training of the teaching staff in the format of “Summer School”, in order to improve their professional skills, has also been sounded in the meeting.
Commenting on the report, Rector A.Muradov said the quality improvement remains continues and long-term strategy of UNEC. In this respect, the results of the monitoring process are of great importance to determine the direction of future action. According to the Rector, hereinafter ICT skills of the employees to be liable to UNEC will be considered and the series of steps are necessary to be taken to instill ICT skills in education process.
It was also proposed to develop actions plan for the new, effective basis of building student-teacher relationship which was one of the obvious issues emerging within the monitoring. To involve the businesspeople in teaching and preparation of syllabuses and academic programs have been suggested to harmonize the teaching process with the requirements of the labor market.
Finally, Rector thanked the quality envoys for their activities and noted that to improve the quality of education it is advisable to continue the work in the direction.
