The last Scientific Council meeting of 2023 was held at UNEC.
Before the speeches, the Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov,
introduced Associate Professor Fariz Ahmadov, newly appointed to the position
of Vice-Rector for Science, to the members of the Scientific Council.
Then, the director of the Examination Center, associate professor
Sohrab Isayev, gave a report on the results of the intermediate evaluation
exams of the fall semester of the 2023/2024 academic year and preparation for
the winter exam session. It was reported that 456 of the intermediate exams
were written and 302 were test exams. It was evaluated as a positive case that
the cases of violations of the rules in the exams decreased by approximately
three times.
Associate Professor Geray Musayev, vice-rector for education, said
that the list of subjects to be organized in a hybrid form has been increased,
and 32 new subjects have been added to the list. In total, he pointed out that
lessons on 74 subjects will be conducted in a hybrid form.
The Scientific Council continued with the discussion of current
issues.
By the decision of the council, students whose IELTS certificate in
foreign language is higher than 7 points will be exempted from “Foreign
language – 4″ subject as well as 1, 2, 3 in “Foreign language”
subject.
At the meeting, it was decided that full-time and part-time students
who have exceeded the limit of 1 or 2 absences will be allowed to take the
exam. The decision will apply to the students of Zagatala branch as well as
colleges operating under UNEC.
At the end of the council, elections were held to fill vacant
professorships at the “Economic and Technological Sciences”
department. According to the voting results, prof. Arif Shekaraliyev, Prof.
Mahish Ahmadov, Prof. Kamil Shahbazov, Prof. Rasim Hasanov, Prof. Gabil
Manafov, Prof. Umidvar Babayev and Prof. Alijan Babayev were elected as
professors of the department for the next 5 years.
