Presentation of the Book “Garabagh Tragedy”
On April 22 the presentation of the book “Garabagh Tragedy” written by the Professor of the Department of International Relations of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), honorary teacher Asger Abdullayev has taken place.
Before the event, Garabagh victims’ memories have been commemorated with a moment of silence.
Vice-rector of UNEC for Administrative and Organizational Affairs Shaig Asgerov has emphasized the importance of youths’ awareness of history and national values in their growing in patriotic spirit. He said the latest Garabagh events have shown the national unity of Azerbaijani youth. Drawing to attention massacres committed by Armenian nationalists against our people within two centuries, Sh. Asgerov has highly appreciated the significance of such publications in terms of revealing the horrors of the crimes and their perpetrators and promoting the world community with the information about. He has highlighted the book to be a great contribution for the World Book and Copyright Day marked on April 23.
Corresponding member of ANAS Vali Aliyev said in his speech that the Armenians have destroyed our cultural heritage in Daghlig-Garabagh. The historical and material sources being preached to the world by Armenian today belong to Turks. While walking along its provinces and hamlets, Turkish traces are still clearly evident.
Professor A.Abdullayev has especially stressed the unity shown by the people during the events taken place in the front line in recent days. He has highly appreciated the spirit created in young people, the attention and care demonstrated to soldiers by the President. A.Abdullayev has called out the youth to love their Motherland and land. He dreamt to hold the presentation of the book “Garabagh Victory” as a continuation of the book “Garabagh Tragedy” in Shusha.
Other participants of the event have spoken about the atrocities committed by Armenians and emphasized the importance of the kind of research works in terms of instilling our history, national values to the young people.
Professor Asger Abdullayev was awarded the “Honorary Diploma” for his contributions to the development of science and education and developing highly skilled economist cadres at Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
