At UNEC QS official announced to rectors the development opportunities of the international rating for the country’s universities
Zoya Zaitseva, Regional Director of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) international rating agency for Eastern Europe and Central Asia visited UNEC.
The event was attended by deputy head of the Apparatus of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Yaqub Piriyev, rectors of institutes of higher education and representatives of the ministry.
Rector of UNEC, Professor Adalat Muradov said that the development opportunities of country universities on QS rating would be announced at the event. He noted that Azerbaijani universities have enough potential to be included in international ratings, noting that UNEC has achieved great success in recent years. A.Muradov underlined the importance of further improvement of the work in this area in order to achieve strategic goals.
Zoya Zaitseva also announced the criteria for participating in the QS rankings of the universities. She provided detailed information on the application forms and conditions that are important to be included in the QS rating list. She noted that the QS rating is determined by the academic reputation, the ratio of university teachers to students, references to articles, the number of articles by foreign lecturers and students, academic staff, professors and teachers, the reputation of employers and the effectiveness of internet resources.
Noting that the international rating of universities in many countries is measured by their scientific activity, education and internationalization, Z.Zaitseva said that the QS rating also attached great importance to the criteria for employment of graduates. She said that according to the number of votes given by employers on QS rating, UNEC is a leader not only in Azerbaijan, but also in the region.

The event continued with a seminar on “Increasing the international reputation: electronic representation, measures and partnership relations management” for the responsible persons of Azerbaijani universities.
