The UNEC team visited the grave of martyr Suleyman Garayev on his birthday
July 3 was the birthday of Suleyman Garayev, a graduate of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), a martyr of the Patriotic War, he turned 26 years old.
On the occasion of Suleyman Garayev’s birthday, Associate Professor Geray Musayev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Azer Garayev, and Student Trade Union Committee Chairman Rufat Suleymanli visited the martyr’s grave in Sabirabad district. The UNEC collective paid tribute to the dear memory of the martyr, laid a wreath and arranged flowers in front of the grave.
Then the family of the martyr was visited. Shahid shared his memories of his father Suleyman and talked about his life path and dreams. Saying that Suleiman prioritized the freedom of the Motherland above all else and that his love for the Motherland stood before all his dreams, he spoke about his war path: “When a counter-attack was ordered to prevent the provocation of the Armenians, Suleiman was one of the first to jump into battle. He showed great bravery in the battles in the direction of Aghdam. He was a sniper, he had destroyed dozens of the enemy’s living forces with his accurate fire. “My son was martyred in the intense battles on October 7.”
Suleyman’s wife Shalala Garayeva and two children attended his birthday in the military uniform of our martyr. Mrs. Shalala stated that Suleyman’s military uniform was entrusted to her and shared her memories: “This time Suleyman’s birthday was according to his wish. He did not celebrate his birthday last year. He said that my birthday will be crowded next year. As if he saw this day in advance. Martyrdom was the highest point, the most sublime desire for Suleiman. After his death, he was awarded the “For the Fatherland” medal. Now he has found his dream in heaven.”
The dean of the faculty, docent Geray Musayev, said that our victory won at the cost of the blood and lives of brave sons like Suleyman, our brave soldiers, veterans, ended the 30-year longing for the Motherland, and said that our people are proud of such sons, they are an example for future generations. He pointed out that every member of the martyr’s family is valuable for the UNEC family.
Then a memorial gift was presented to Ms. Shalala.
