Lifelong Learning Center is opened at UNEC
The opening ceremony of the Lifelong Learning Center has been held at UNEC.
The event was attended by UNEC Rector Professor Adalat Muradov, chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli, heads of human resources departments of well-known companies and other guests.
At the opening of the event, rector Adalat Muradov said that the main purpose of the center is to apply a corporate education model that meets modern requirements. Emphasizing that the formation of the required skills in the digital economy will be a key priority in the activities of the center, the rector noted that special attention will be paid to digital literacy of consumers taking into consideration the importance of digital products and services in terms of consumption. The rector stressed that the establishment of the center is one of the steps taken by UNEC in the transition to an entrepreneurial university and will further increase competition among instructors.
Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli spoke about the essence of the labor market and the requirements for employment of citizens. Saying that the most sustainable tool in providing employment is education, M.Abbasbeyli stressed the importance of acquiring professional skills along with the specialty, noting the importance of lifelong learning tools in this direction. He stressed that one of the tasks of the employment agency is to form a proper level of cooperation between education and educational institutions,and spoke about the opportunities for cooperation between the agency and UNEC.
Then the director of the Lifelong Learning Center Galandar Mammadli delivered a presentation on the activities of the center. He said that vocational training courses, certificate programs, corporate education, mini-specialty programs, short and intensive courses and international summer schools will be organized at the Lifelong Learning Center. He also said that students will be prepared for entrance exams to bachelor and master degrees and additional test exams, creative competitions, various exams conducted by government agencies. It was noted that with the application of adaptive teaching methods in the center, educational and training programs will be organized in full-time, distance and hybrid form.
Speaking at the event, director of the Career Center Ramil Jabbarov spoke about the importance of digital marketing, which is in high demand in the global labor market. He said that the UNEC has implemented a certificate program for digital marketing and there is a lot of interest in the program from the corporate sector.
