UNEC becomes an academic partner of the World Business Angels Investment Forum
The signing ceremony of the memorandum of cooperation between the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) and UNEC has been held.
The event was attended by Baybars Altuntas, Chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum, Mammad Musayev, President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs, the rector Professor Adalat Muradov, and structural heads of state and private institutions, as well as the university.
Rector Adalat Muradov said that UNEC and WBAF will jointly open the “Angel Investor” Mini MBA program for the first time in the world. He also pointed out that teachers and students would have the opportunity to connect with investors from 132 countries of the world through the WBAF Financial Inclusion Center. A. Muradov noted that this cooperation would give a great impetus to the development and internationalization of the startup movement in the university. He also emphasized that UNEC’s relations with Bahraini universities would be expanded, and the teacher-student staff would have access to the Forum’s electronic library database. He also suggested the establishment of the Regional Cooperation Center of the Forum at UNEC.
Baybars Altuntas, the chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum, said that the Forum has 1400 partners in 132 countries. B. Altuntas said that they prefer cooperation with universities and said that cooperation with UNEC can bring great contributions not only to the university but also to the region.
ACE President Mammad Musayev spoke about the tasks set by President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of the social-economic development of the country. He explained the important points that UNEC’s cooperation with WBAF can bring to this field.
Then a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Chairman of the World Business Angels Investment Forum Baybars Altuntas and the rector Professor Adalat Muradov. According to the document, a Mini MBA program on “Angel Investor” will be opened at UNEC, and teachers and students will have the opportunity to use the services of the WBAF Financial Inclusion Center free of chargeş In the memorandum, it is also reflected that pieces of training will be held for the purpose of imparting entrepreneurial skills to students, teaching the development mechanism of “smart” finance, as well as creating new start-ups and attracting entrepreneurs in the direction of the formation of the global economy. Within the framework of the memorandum, UNEC also acquired the right to translate and print the book “Angel Investor” into Azerbaijani.
