The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Expert Tomas Mathew visited ASUE
One of the leading experts of the world in the field of International Trade Tomas Mathew conducted lecture on “System of International Trade-beginning from the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade to the Bali Conference of Ministers of the World Trade Organization (WTO)” at the main training building of ASUE on February 18. Detailed information about the WTO’s role in the regulation of international trade, the status of trade negotiations within the framework of the mentioned organization and the results achieved in Bali Conference of Ministers were delivered during the lecture.
The same day T.Mathew has also lectured on “UNCTAD Directions of Activity and its Role in the Regulation of International Trade” at the second training building of ASUE. He spoke about the expert support to developing countries, necessary training and research opportunities for the teaching and students staffs of the universities by the UNCTAD-the specialized body of the UNO.
The Professor and teaching staff, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students of ASUE and the active members of the Student Research Center performing under the School of IER attended the lecture.
The participants’ numerous questions were answered by the expert within the lectures.
