Round- table Discussions held in the Faculties within the “Science Month”

Round-table discussions were held in the Faculties of Business and Management, Economy, Commodity Research and Technology and Design of Azerbaijan State University of Economics on November 10. The events were organized in accordance with the actions plan of the “Science Month”.

Dean, Associated Professor of the School of Business and Management Miragha Ahmadov made a speech on “Innovative Management Strategy in Azerbaijan”. He said that the transition to a new economic model is based on the requirements of the traditional economy to a knowledge-based economy. Among them, there is a need to improve the education system, the need to increase the role of ICT and virtual education.

Making a speech, Head of the Department “Organization of Trade and Customs Affairs”, Professor Arif Shakaraliyev said that the export of hydrocarbon resources in the last 10 decade has been the driving force of economic growth. However, the current stage of economic development, one of the main issues in the development of non-oil sector to achieve greater economic efficiency and enhance the ability of competitiveness, innovation, based on the need to ensure its development.

Head of the Department of “Management”, Professor Kamil Shahbazov said the ongoing reforms in the education system; in particular the changes in the development of modern, innovative managers need to study the experience of the leading universities of the world.

Head of the Department of “Regulation of Economy”, Professor Mahish Ahmadov made a report with the round- table dedicated to the “Implementation mechanism of the main directions of the strategic roadmap on the main sectors of the national economy and economy” and the obligations that economists face in the School of Economy. He spoke about the significant role of the strategic roadmap in determining the future development conception of Azerbaijan. Head of the Department of “Economy and Management of Social Sphere”, Professor Ali Alirzayev said that the economists should conduct researches on the basis of the principles set forth in the strategic roadmap. A.Alirzayev emphasized the necessity of developing specific areas and targeted programs for this purpose.

Then the Head of Department of “Economic Theory”, Professor Alijan Babayev shared his views on increasing the quality of economic growth.

Associated Professor of the Department “Economic Theory” Khankishi Khankishiyev and Associated Professor Kamil Gafarov noted their opinions on practical realization of the roadmap. Dean of the Russian School of Economics, Associated Professor Mansur Barkhudarov emphasized the conduct of theoretical and methodological investigation in the development of strategic roadmap and its practical realization and determination of relevant conceptual basis.

Then the School Dean, Assistant Professor Asiman Guliyev noted that the roadmap set very important duties towards the economists.

Speaking about the importance of the events held at the university within the “Science Month” and the discussions held on different science fields, Head of the Department of “Expertise of Consumer Products”, Professor Ali Hasanov said the events create the ground to take the advantage of the scientific potential by revealing it during the round- table discussion organized in the Faculties of “Commodity Research” and “Technology and Design”.

Making a speech on “The Role of zoo benthic organisms in feeding of Caspian Sea fishes of fishery importance in modern environmental conditions”, Associate Professor of the Department “Expertise of Commodity Research” Geray Musayev highlighted the role of zoo benthic organisms included in 10 systematic groups in feeding the Caspian Sea fishes of fishery importance. Highlighting the existence of mollusks and crustaceans which are of special necessity in feeding of fishery importance, he noted that they are considered the groups dominated in the formation of biomass on all the depths.

Making a speech on “The Role of Islamic Scholars in Scientific Development History of the World”, Head of the Department of “Physics and Chemistry”, Professor Rovneg Rzayev said that was impossible to imagine the development of modern science and technology without the Muslim scholars who lived centuries ago, noting that there was a morning in Islamic world when there was the “dark age” in Europe in the early Middle Ages. The attention was brought to Muslim scholars and their grandiose discoveries in separate science fields in medieval within the report.
