Doctor of Physical-mathematical sciences. prof. Abdinov Javad Shahvalad
He was born on January 5, 1940 in Behrud village of Ordubad region.
He graduated from secondary school in 1956, and in 1961 from the physics department of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.
In 1961-1964 he was a post-graduate student at the Institute of Physics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, until 1973 he was a senior researcher, in 1973-2002 he was the head of the department at the Scientific Research Photo electronics Institute, in 1993-2002 he was the deputy director for scientific affairs at the same institute. He has been the head of the laboratory at the Institute of Physics since 2009 and the deputy director for scientific affairs since 2009.
In 1993-2002 he was the deputy director on scientific affairs of the Institute of Photoelectronics of ANAS, in 1998-2002 he was the director of that institute. In 1995-2010, he worked as the head of the “Physics” department at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

In 1966 he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Study of the effect of oxygen on the physical properties of high-purity solid and liquid selenium”, in 1976 on “Structure and physical properties of various modifications of selenium.” He is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor. Azerbaijan is a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences.
He is the author of 2 monographs, more than 300 scientific articles (more than 200 in special journals), 30 inventions. He has trained 4 doctors of sciences, 24 candidates of sciences.
In 2014, he was elected a full member of ANAS.
In 1982, he was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For the development of scientific bases for the production technology and design of widely used electronic devices.” He was awarded orders and medals.
He is married and has four children .
