Farhad Badalbeyli performs the works of Fikret Amirov for the UNEC staff
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov, the rector of Baku Music Academy named after U. Hajibeyli, prominent pianist, people’s artist Professor Farhad Badalbeyli performed a special concert program for the UNEC staff.
At the concert organized at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall named after M. Magomayev, people’s artist professor Zahra Guliyeva talked about the life and work of composer Fikret Amirov. She pointed out that Fikret Amirov, the great representative of the Azerbaijani composition school, the founder of the symphonic mugham genre, successfully synthesized the wonderful folk music and mugham traditions with modern musical techniques and created several valuable operas, ballets, symphonies, songs, romances and chamber-instrumental works.
Fikret Amirov’s “Azerbaijan” symphonic suite and “Gulustan Bayati-Shiraz” mugam were performed at the concert under the direction of People’s Artist Fakhreddin Karimov, accompanied by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the soloist of Honored Artist Sabina Asadova.
The great concert program performed by Fikret Amirov and Elmira Nazirova based on Arabic themes for piano and orchestra with the soloist of People’s Artist Farhad Badalbeyli was greeted with great applause by the UNEC collective.
The magnificently organized concert program brought pleasant moments to the UNEC staff.
