General information about SSS

Student Scientific Society of the Azerbaijan State Economic University is a students’ union established to organize and coordinate scientific-researches and scientific-practical works of the students and carries out its activities with the participation of scientists and teachers. Chairman of the SSS was Avazagha Malikov within 2016-2017. At present, the chairman of the society is Aslan Azimzade.

SSS aims to achieve the following complex tasks:

• Formation of the basis for the research work and acquisition of the scientific cognitive methods by students;
• Assisting the students master the training materials in deeper and creative form;
• Promotion of the different forms of scientific creativity among the students in accordance with unity principles of science and practice; improving the interests to fundamental researches as the bases of the new skills;
• Identification of the students who have the talent and skills for the scientific and practical works;
• Conduction of the scientific and practical events (contests, seminars, conferences, lectures, trainings etc.) of the students and provision of the information about the participation opportunities;
• Organization and conduction of the workshops, round-table discussions, conferences, forums and other scientific and practical events with the participation of the students, academic staff, scientists, business representatives, state and public unions.

Initiative of the students, their active role and interest to science, and the university management that creates all necessary conditions for the operation of such student unions have played an important role in establishment of the SSS. Specially, the balance of these interests is one of the main factors that contribute to the development of the Student Scientific Society.

SSS carries out its activity in the following forms:

• Provision of the information about SSS sessions and forthcoming events;
• Cooperation with the state, public and international bodies and the scientists;
• Subject Olympiads;
• Intellectual and business games on different fields of economy;
• Trainings and workshops;
• Discussions on scientific themes and actual development issues of the society;
• Conduction of the scientific conferences, symposiums, round-table discussions and business games.

Currently, the Chairperson of the UNEC Student Scientific Society (TEC) is Gulshan Yusifova.

Gulshan Yusifova was born on May 7, 2004, in Moscow, Russian Federation. In 2011, she began her education at МБОУ Захаровская СОШ in Russia and later continued her studies in Azerbaijan at the Naftalan city Secondary School No. 2 named after S. Vurgun. In 2022, she was admitted to the Economics major at the Russian School of Economics at UNEC.

In May 2023, she assumed the position of Deputy Chairperson of the RES Digital Volunteers Organization, and in October 2023, she was elected as the Chairperson of the International Cooperation Department of the Digital Volunteers Organization.

Since 2024, she has served as the Chairperson of the UNEC Student Scientific Society and is also a member of the UNEC Scientific Council.
