An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of academician Zarifa Aliyeva is held at UNEC
An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding scientist of Azerbaijan, Honored Scientist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, Academician, Zarifa Aliyeva has been held at UNEC.
Before the event, the UNEC team honored the memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist-scientist, and academician Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor, and laid wreaths and flowers in front of her grave.
At the opening of the event, the dear memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist was commemorated with a moment of silence.
Vice-rector of UNEC Shaiq Asgarov made a speech at the event and said that the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Mrs. Zarifa Aliyeva not only commemorates our outstanding scientist, but also has the essence of calling people to acquire science and knowledge, take humanitarian steps, and become exemplary citizens. Shaig Askerov assessed the meaningful and rich life path of ophthalmologist scientist Zarifa Aliyeva as one of the brightest pages of our history and pointed out that the outstanding scientist’s sacrifice for the happiness of his family, people, and state is an example for future generations.
The vice-president of ANAS, the director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies, academician Irada Huseynova spoke about the rich heritage of academician Zarifa Aliyeva, who made great contributions to the science of ophthalmology, her research in various fields of medicine, and the exceptional role of her fundamental works in the development of medical science in Azerbaijan. He emphasized that all the successes and achievements of the eminent scientist are based on constant hard work, efficient activities in the development of the science of ophthalmology, and great services.
Head of the National Ophthalmology Center named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, Professor Rasim Hajiyev pointed out that the rich scientific heritage of Zarifa Aliyeva is being continued and deep scientific research is being conducted in the Center named after the academician. He spoke about the exceptional role of the eminent academician in the development of medical science in Azerbaijan.
The event continued with speeches about the rich scientific heritage and high human qualities of the outstanding scientist Zarifa Aliyeva, who dedicated her meaningful life to the science of ophthalmology and her people.
