A scientific seminar on “Organizing Trainees’ and Nominee Doctors’ Participation in Scientific Research Works: Problems and Prospects” has been held at UNEC.
A moderator of the workshop, Director of Science Department, Professor Zahid Mammadov said the capacity of universities is measured by the number of scientific-research works conducted in the higher education institution. The Professor stressed that purposeful work is being carried out at UNEC in this direction: “We plan to organize regular international scientific conferences with UNEC students’ participation. In order to stimulate them, it is also planned to form the ranking system that will determine the assessment of scientific activities carried by the research fellows. Affairs for UNEC students’ and graduate’s participation in the Olympiads abroad who distinguished in the 10th Olympiad on “Taxes” are being conducted. The working group in connection was established at the university.
A well-known American economist, Professor Bulent Aybar spoke about the American experience of the prestigious universities in involving students in scientific-research activity. He said Professors of the US universities are interested in the development of scientific cadres. In these universities, involving students in scientific researches is conducted on the voluntary principle.
UNEC Rector’s Secretary Ramil Jabbarov spoke off the “Win Win Model”- using student potential.
Director of Graduate Center, Professor Gabil Manafov delivered the information about the conduct of scientific works in graduate level. He said in accordance with the new education standards, the graduate students have to write at least one article and a thesis within their studies. G.Manafov also brought to attention that the discipline Scientific Research Methods has been conducted from the new academic year.
Director of Doctoral Studies, Associate Professor Hamid Hamidov spoke about the innovations applied in the direction of conducting scientific performances by nominee doctors and the program Anti-plagiarism.
The workshop went on with debates. Questions by the Vice-rector for Student Affairs, Associate Professor Saadat Gandilova, Head of the Department of “Physics and Chemistry”, Professor Rovneg Rzayev and other participants were answered, proposals were heard.
