UNEC pays tribute to its Martyrs
January 15 is UNEC’s alumni martyr Saleh Safarov’s Memorial Day.
Safarov Saleh Safar oghlu was born on February 1 1954 in Aghdam region. After he received the secondary education in school 1 of Aghdam region, in 1970 he became a full-time undergraduate of the School of Economy and Planning of the National Economy of Azerbaijan Institute of the National Economy named after D.Bunyadzade (current Azerbaijan State University of Economics) and graduated from in 1974.
In the years of 1974-76 he served in the military service in Ivanovo-Frankovski city of the Ukraine. After the military service he worked as an audit of the Financial Department of Aghdam region. Entering the Agdam region Technical School of Agriculture in 1977, completes it 1980. In 1983 he was appointed an Inspector General of Aghdam region Department of Internal Affairs. In 1986 he became a captain and rose to the rank of major in 1990. S.Safarov became a part-time student of the School of Law of Baku State University in 1991. In 1992 he started to serve in the Department of Economic Crime.
Since the beginning of the Armenian – Azerbaijan conflict, S.Safarov stood in defense of Aghdam region and its villages together with the employees of the department. Saleh Safarov was killed in the battles in Giyasli province of Aghdam region in January 15 1993.
Today the martyr’s daughter Gulchohre Salehzade is a teaching staff of UNEC.
