“The Fourth Industrial Revolution” by Klaus Schwab in the Azerbaijani language
As it is known, at the last summit of the World Economic Forum in Davos, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Forum Borge Brende signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a regional center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Baku.
Taking into account its special significance in this regard, the famous work of the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab, entitled “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” has been translated into Azerbaijani by UNEC (Azerbaijan State University of Economics) scientists and published.
This work by Klaus Schwab is about what the fourth industrial revolution, based on new technological breakthroughs such as artificial intelligence, robots, the Internet of Things, autonomous machines, three-dimensional printers, nanotechnology, biotechnology, quantum computing andwhat innovations it will bring, how it will affect it, and what can be done to turn it into common benefits. The author notes that his work is written forthose who are interested in the future, for people who are dedicated themselves to taking advantage of the opportunities created by this revolutionary change in order to make the world a better place. In this regard, the main features of the new technological revolution are described in the work. The opportunities and dilemmas it creates are highlighted, and most importantly, the ways in which the fourth industrial revolution take place under human control are explored.
The foreword to the publication of the book “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” in the Azerbaijani language, which is considered the first fundamental work in the relevant field, was written by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov. In his opening remarks, M.Jabbarov noted that the main innovations embodying the fourth industrial revolution had been widely covered, and evaluated the presentation of this work in the Azerbaijani language as an important contribution to the formation of modern economic thinking in the country.
The book, written in English, has been published in more than 15 languages, including Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Turkish and Arabic. The book was published in Azerbaijani on the basis of an agreement signed between the World Economic Forum and UNEC. According to the agreement, the exclusive rights to translate and publish the work in Azerbaijani were given to UNEC by the World Economic Forum. The book was published by UNEC on the principle of social responsibility with a circulation of 1,000 copies and its distribution to relevant institutions, including universities, libraries and research centers have been planned.
The scientific editor of the Azerbaijani edition of the book “The Fourth Industrial Revolution” is the rector of UNEC, doctor of economic sciences, Professor Adalat Muradov. The work has been translated into Azerbaijani by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Elshan Bagirzadeh (UNEC) and researcher Tahmasib Alizadeh (UNEC).
