In Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) successful projects are being implemented to support state policy in this direction, purposeful steps are taken to recruit young people.
Traditional inauguration ceremony of young teachers in UNEC has been held.
The event was attended by the rector of UNEC, professor Adalat Muradov, director of the Y.Mamedaliyev’s Institute of Petrochemical Processes of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, academician Vagif Abbasov, chairman of Azerbaijan Education Council, professor Hikmat Alizadeh and senior university professors.
Rector Adalat Muradov, pointing out that young teachers are one step ahead, from the point of view of innovation and creativity, called them a leading force that can meet the university’s goals.
Stressing that the main mission of the universities is to grow modern human capital and serve the society, the rector noted that he targets to establish a higher education institution in line with the world university criteria by increasing the quality of education in UNEC, deepening the scope of scientific research and creating a modern teacher-student environment.
Stating that the inauguration of young teachers was held for the second time, Muradov said that over the past five years, more than 450 young people have been recruited in the UNEC. The rector also spoke about the activities of the UNEC Young Teacher’s Council and “The Young Professors” project. At the end of the event, wishing young teachers success in their work, A.Muradov advised them to take advantage of the experience of old professors.
Academician Vagif Abbasov, who calls UNEC the country’s elite university, spoke about the importance of teaching mission to young people. Noting that a teacher was highly valued at all times, the academician announced the factors that influenced the rise of teaching authority. “There is life in the area of education, science and technology,” the scientist said, adding that teacher labor has played a major role in the development of the country, giving young teachers the recommendations.
Stating that he has been proudly following the recent UNEC innovations, chairman of the Azerbaijani Education Council, Professor Hikmat Alizadeh highly appreciated the teachers’ inaguration performance in this university for the first time in the country. Noting that there is a high scientific potential to train teachers in economics in UNEC, the professor urged young educators to educate students who are competent and able to represent Azerbaijan worthily.
The consultant-professor of “Azerbaijani language” department Maarifa Hajiyeva spoke about state support to the youth. She said that a teacher was always respected and the great leader Heydar Aliyev was in charge of material well-being of them when the country was led by him. She underlined that this policy was being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev now.
At the ceremony, the “values of UNEC” were presented, including high moral qualities, such as academic freedom, academic ethics, decency, transparency, excellence, quality, participation, respect for differences, sensitivity to society, environmental sensitivity. Then, young teachers put their hands on the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking oath solemnly and signing the text of the document of inaguration.
