Parents observed the exam process at UNEC
On January 18 the winter exam session of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has been observed by the parents. They visited all academic buildings of UNEC. The parents became closely familiar with their children’s and other students’ exam process. Observing the written exams held in the School of International Economics and SABAH Groups, they also followed the process of checking results. Deans of the Schools, teaching staff members and the monitors have answered the parents’ questions about the exams.
Afterwards, the UNEC students’ relatives met with UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov. A.Muradov spoke about the projects realized in UNEC; announced targets. He said our aim is to lead out UNEC among the world-class universities. Saying, the quality of education depends on the quality of the teaching staff, Rector added we involved young people qualified abroad to our university. In addition, recently 100 teaching staff members will be trained by the Professor of Sorbonne University of France in our Guba campus. The trainings will be regularly continued.
Emphasizing the teacher-student relationship in education, rector said teachers should be the students’ best friends. In general, UNEC students’ academic level is highly appreciated by foreign teachers who lecture at the university. Rector also announced that the students’ attendance would be checked by fingerprints; thereby the time spent to checking their attendance will be saved.
Answering the parents’ questions on the graduates’ recruitment problems, rector noted that the proposals are being prepared to organize the qualitative internship and experience programs; we want our students to receive work- book after they pass a five-week internship program.
At the end of the meeting Rector invited the parents to become active participants of the university social life.
Winter exam session at UNEC will last till February 1. Aiming to provide the objectivity and to save the transparency in the assessment of the students’ knowledge all necessary conditions for the public representatives’ participation within the session have been created. Meetings held under the motto “Knowledge should be assessed transparently and objective” have been organized in accordance with the Education Minister’s order about the “Organization and Implementation of the Exam Session”. Education experts and the representatives of NGO have also followed the exam session during the meetings. Journalists have taken part as the controllers of the exams.
