UNEC Employees visited the Martyrs’ Alley
The employees and students of Azerbaijan State University (UNEC) called at the Martyrs’ Alley on January 20.
The visitors laid flowers on martyrs’ graves who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan as well as UNEC alumni who were killed on that day.
On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the tragedy January 20 the opening of Memorial Complex perpetuating the martyrs’ memory took place on January 19 at UNEC.
The national flags in all academic buildings of UNEC were lowered by half in connection with January 20 tragedy. A minute of silence was announced on 12am at the University. In addition, the university’s official webpage has broadcast interviews by family members of Habil Azizov and Ilgar Abdulhasanov who were killed during the tragedy. Also the documentaries reflecting the events of January 20 have been demonstrated on the monitors installed in the corridors of the university. A video devoted to the martyrs’ memory has been made with the participation of UNEC students.
