A scientific workshop dedicated to the World Tourism Day has been held at the School of Economics of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The seminar was jointly organized by the Department of Economy and Management of Social Sphere and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of the Faculty.
Making a speech during the seminar, the acting Dean of the Faculty Asiman Guliyev congratulated the participants with the World Tourism Day and spoke about the role of tourism in the development of Azerbaijan economy, especially non- oil sector and the significant duties incumbent upon the UNEC scholars in increasing tourism potential.
Information about the reforms in tourism sphere, State Programs and the execution mechanism of the obligations arising from the Presidential decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan were heard within the presentation made by the teacher of the Department of “Economy and Management of Social Sphere” Yalchin Kocherli.
Head of the Department “Economy and Management of Social Sphere”, Professor Ali Alirzayev made a report on “Development of Tourism in Azerbaijan, Problems and Prospects”. Deputy Dean of the School of Economics Mushirevan Aliyev shared his views on modern problems of teaching related with tourism with the participants of the event.
Students distinguished in summer internship majoring in “Tourism and Hotel Keeping” were awarded certificates.
The administration of the faculty, the Student Trade Union of the faculty, academic staff and the undergraduate and graduate students majoring in “Tourism and Hotel Keeping” attended the workshop.
