Islamic Solidarity Year: student scientific conference, lecture and seminar
A series of events within the “Islamic Solidarity Year” are in progress at UNEC
Head of the Department “International Relations”, Assistant Professor Ramin Gurbanov spoke about the significance of the announcement 2017 the Islamic Solidarity Year within the student scientific conference held at the department. He said the incidents happen in Islamic countries; challenges set towards them makes the solidarity of these countries a pressing issue. President Ilham Aliyev demonstrated Azerbaijan’s determination to contribute to Islamic solidarity.
Head of the Department of “Humanitarian Disciplines”, Professor Vakil Huseynov emphasized the implementation of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku in 2017 as one of the practical steps in strengthening Islamic solidarity.
Associated Professors of the Department “International Relations” Zafar Bayramov and Solmaz Gozalova, a senior teacher Tarana Shirvanova and an Associated Professor of the Department “Humanitarian Disciplines” Afag Mammadova made speeches on “Islamic Civilization: Modern Religious Views and New World”, “Azerbaijan and Islam: Islamic Tolerance”, “Islamic Culture and the Europe” and “Solidarity in Islamic Culture”.
Students majoring in International Relations made speeches on “Islamic Civilization: Modern Religious Views and New World” “New World Challenges: the Europe and Islam”, “Islamic Culture and Relations between Civilizations”, “New World Challenges: Azerbaijan and Islam”, “Solidarity in Islamic Culture” and “Islam and Democracy: History and Contemporaneity” within the conference.
A workshop dedicated to the “Islamic Solidarity Day” was held in the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of UNEC.
Assistant Professor of the Department “International Relations” Anar Eyyubov made a speech on “Pakistan- Azerbaijan Relations as an Example of Islamic Solidarity”. A.Eyyubov stressed the existence of mutual friendship and cultural relations between the two countries. He brought to attention that Pakistan always supports Azerbaijan in Daghlig Garabakh Conflict and is a strategic military partner of our country.
Assistant Professor of the Department of “Humanitarian Disciplines” Latafat Hummatova made a speech within a lecture organized in the Faculty “Technology and Design” devoted to “Islamic Solidarity Year”. Islamic culture and religion were reviewed as a factor to influence the social development dynamics during the lecture held on “Islam and Economic Development”. Main principles on economic aspects of Islamic religion were revealed.
