The “Knowledge Day” held at UNEC
Events in relation with the “Knowledge Day” have been held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) on 15September.
Vice- Rector of UNEC for Education and Training Technologies, Professor Damat Baghirov congratulated first- year students of the Schools of Accounting and Finance and International School of Economics wishing them success in education. He delivered information about the work done at UNEC, the innovations to be implemented and brought to the attention of the students the application of innovations. He noted that the application of the e- university model have been started at the university. The digitalization of the whole training process is planned via the system.
Vice- rector for the Administrative and Organizational Affair, Associate Professor Shia Askerov met with the first- course undergraduates of the Schools of Commerce, Technology and Design, Economics and Industry and congratulated them with the new academic year. He spoke about the education reforms held in our country, state care and attention drawn to education. He pointed that, the process of education building founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully being continued now by the President Ilham Aliyev. Sh. Askerov brought the students’ attention to the main clauses of the discipline guidelines of the university.
Vice- rector for Students’ Affairs, Associate Professor Saadat Gandilova congratulated the freshmen of the Schools of Business Administration and Informatics and Management, wishing them success in education. She spoke to the youth about the role of the education, special care and attention paved to the development of the area in our country. She emphasized that UNEC alumni have been taking significant places in the socio- political life of the republic in all periods of time.
Vice- rector for Economic Affairs Mikayil Zeynalov expressed the gratitude to the freshmen of the School of Commodity Research for choosing UNEC and wished the success in education. M. Zeynalov spoke about the affairs implemented to improve the quality of education. He noted that for the first time UNEC is placed among the world’s Top- 5000 universities and became the first among the universities of Azerbaijan. In addition, it was included into Top- 500 taking 330th place among the universities of the Central and Eastern European Universities. As a whole UNEC was moved to 1231st place among the European Universities and for the first time it was ranked to the TOP- 1500 of the region.
More than 3200 students were announced to be enrolled to UNEC during the event. 103 of them got more than 600 points. Student with the highest score (680) the Presidential Scholar Jale Rahimova has chosen the School of Finance.
Taking the floor, Deans of the Schools informed the students about the new majors.
Students entered the university with the higher scores were presented student’s card in the end of the event.
