The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan Guo Min, MP Soltan Mammadov, Director of the Confucius Institute Rafig Abbasov, Head of the Azerbaijani Language Department of Beijing University of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Agshin Aliyev and other guests.
Opening the event, UNEC Vice-Rector, Associate Professor Anar Rzayev said that the third stage of the Chinese language courses, which began at UNEC in 2019 in a distance form, had been successfully completed. The Vice-Rector who said that the teaching of Chinese language would continue, expressed gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan, Confucius Institute and Beijing State University for their support.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan Guo Min said friendly relations between Azerbaijan and China were successfully developing in all areas, including education. Expressing satisfaction with the growing interest in the Chinese language in Azerbaijan, the ambassador said it would contribute to the further expansion of fraternal relations between the two countries. Congratulating the graduates, Ms. Guo Min invited them to visit China.
MP Soltan Mammadov spoke about the attention and care shown by President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to the development of education in the country. He stressed that the Chinese language courses initiated by the Foundation’s Vice-President Leyla Aliyeva played an important role in this direction. He noted that the project would have a positive impact on high-level economic and cultural ties between the two countries. Speaking about the high level of organization of Chinese language courses at UNEC, the MP noted that this higher educational institution had achieved great success in the field of distance education in the country.
Head of the Azerbaijani Language department of Beijing University of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Agshin Aliyev, director of the Confucius Institute, Rafig Abbaov, who attended the event, congratulated the graduates, said the project would further strengthen friendly relations between Azerbaijan and China.
At the end, the graduates were awarded certificates.
