Debate at UNEC: “Towards Indexing of Scientific Journals on an International Platform”
A debate entitled “UNEC periodical scientific publications: from author to the reader or a step from “closed” publication to the international arena” was organized within the framework of the Science festival held at UNEC.
The debate which was moderated by the vice-rector for scientific affairs Professor Sakit Yagubov was attended by the Rector’s Advisor Associate Professor Elshan Bagyrzadeh, Head of the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences Professor Rovnag Rzayev, the director of UNEC Business School Associate Professor Nazim Hajiyev, Head of the Department of Coordination and Organization of the work of Research centers Rena Huseynova, Director of the Center for organizing the work of laboratories Tural Nagiyev and senior researcher of SRIES Salman Najafov.
During the debate, the current situation of the scientific journals published in UNEC, and the projects planned for inclusion among the high-impact factor journals indexed in international scientific platforms were discussed. In the discussions, the necessity of applying Turkish and European experience in UNEC was emphasized. Noting the importance of technical support of journals (creating a website, posting information about reviewers, providing open access to articles, etc.) and other issues, a proposal was made to create a single database of journals.
