The correspondence education students of UNEC commemorated the 20-th January martyrs.

At first, the memory of martyrs who had lost their lives for the freedom of the country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

The prorector of UNEC for issues with the students, associated professor Saadat Gandilova noted that, 20-th January was the bloody page written to the memory and the independence history of our people. The prorector of UNEC highlighted that, the name of 2 students of UNEC would live forever in this glorious history, which had demonstrated the loyalty of the Azerbaijanis for freedom, their heroism for the territorial integrity and noted that Habil Azizov and Ilqar Abilhasanov were commemorated dearly and they would be exemplum for the future generation.

The speakers delivering the speech in the event, talked about the political situation in our country during the events of January 20, and mentioned those events the slaughter planned in advance against the desire for the independence of our people. The speakers stated that the first political and legal assessment to those events was given by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. They emphasized the importance of handing down to the younger generation this glorious page, which was of the great importance in the history of independence of the Azerbaijani people.
