A memorandum is signed between UNEC and State Employment Agency
An event has been held to sign a memorandum between Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The event was attended by the rector of UNEC Professor Adalat Muradov, the chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli, heads of departments of the university, representatives of the agency and students.
Rector Adalat Muradov drew the attention to the fact that universities have already lost their monopoly in the field of professional education, the demand for diplomas is declining, they are gradually declining as an indicator of knowledge, skills and abilities, and the university model must be completely rebuilt. He stressed that another very serious problem is that in the era of digitalization, reputable technology companies are becoming competitive competitors of existing universities.
Noting that the employment of graduates is one of the main goals of the university, the rector said that UNEC is responsible for the quality of graduates: “The weak knowledge and skills of a UNEC student revealed in an interview with a recruiter while recruitment are eliminated by UNEC until he or she graduates from university. For this, it is enough for the interviewing employer to inform about it. “The rector expressed confidence that cooperation with the State Employment Agency would be beneficial for both parties.
Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbayli spoke about the nature of the labor market and the requirements for labor in the labor market. Saying that the most sustainable tool in providing employment is education, M. Abbasbayli stressed the importance of acquiring vocational skills along with the specialty. He said that one of the tasks of the Agency is to establish proper cooperation with educational institutions. Noting that UNEC graduates have a worthy place in the labor market with their knowledge and skills, the chairman stressed that mutual cooperation will make new contributions to the employment of graduates.
Then a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two sides. According to the memorandum, the parties plan to implement the UNEC Alumni Employment project, educate students and graduates in the field of employment, form new ideas in the field of employment, organize competitions and joint projects, and involve students in internships and other areas.
