The introduction of the winners of the first grant competition of UNEC is held
The introducing of the winning projects in the first grant competition which was held at the expense of the university budget has been organized at UNEC.
The competition was held in order to stimulate the contribution of UNEC scientists to the realization of “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development” approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by the UNEC rector Professor Adalat Muradov, the director of PASHA Holding’s Macroeconomic Research department, Elman Eminov and the academic staff of the university.
The rector Adalat Muradov congratulated the competition winners and pointed out that turning UNEC into a research university is one of the university’s strategic goals. He said that the grant competition had been held as a pilot project, at the expense of the university budget, and the competition topics were determined in accordance with “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development”. The rector emphasized that the members of the evaluation commission were chosen from among the country’s well-known economists in order to ensure transparency and objectivity in project evaluation. The rector said that 6 projects won the competition and said that foreign grants would be applied for in the future.
Elman Eminov, director of PASHA Holding’s Macroeconomic Research Department, announced the criteria for evaluating grant projects and said that the principle of transparency and objectivity is the basis of the evaluation process. The official of the holding drew attention to the relevance of the topics of the projects and expressed confidence that the winning projects would be useful for our country.
Then, the authors of the projects made a presentation under the moderatorship of Professor Zahid Mammadov, director of the department of Organization and Management of Scientific Activity of UNEC. The winning projects were on “Effective communication problem in University-State-Industry relations: who wants what?”, “Preparation of porous metal oxide nanocomposites and application of their physical and chemical properties”, “Establishment of a modern university model that will support the innovative development of the region in the liberated territories – Karabakh University” , “Research and assessment of the impact of the country’s image and reputation on the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan based on global data”, “Economic effects of investment in transport infrastructure within the Zangezur corridor”, “Realization of digital education products (resources) as a direction of development of the digital economy in Azerbaijan”.
