Round-table discussion on the World Oil Market at ASUE
On April 16 a round table discussion on “Azerbaijan Economy in the Context of the World Oil Market” devoted to the 92nd Anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s Birthday was held at Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
Views on the “black gold” price volatility in the world oil market and its impact to the economy of the region and geopolitical processes were exchanged during the event organized by the School of International Economic Relations. It was noted, during the speeches that, significant progress in diversification of Azerbaijan Economy has been made as a result of the policy founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by the President Ilham Aliyev.
Strategic approaches to the effects of the volatility of oil prices in the world market were discussed within the interactive discussion with the participation of the economist Vugar Bayramov, Dean of the School Mansur Barkhudarov and the teaching and student staffs. The participants were informed that despite the fact that oil prices in the world market demonstrate instability, the development of the national economy is successfully continued. It was also pointed that including GDP, the growth rate in all macroeconomic indicators will be maintained; economic diversification will be accelerated. The importance of the economic diversification in accordance with the priority directions determined by the President had also been emphasized.
