Students’ attendance will be registered by fingerprints in one of the universities of Azerbaijan this year

Students’ attendance will be checked by fingerprints since September of this year. Thus, the time spent for checking the attendance will be spent for the lesson”. “Report” informs that these words were told by the Rector of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) during the meeting with journalists.
According to him, the system is now applying to “SABAH” Groups performing in the university.
He also noted that the issue of teachers’ replacement by another teacher will soon be solved. To put an end to this problem, teachers will be able to open e-register only by fingerprints. They will be replaced only by permission”.
A.Muradov added that currently UNEC has 4 academic buildings: “The material and technical base of three of them are good, but in one it is very bad. I mean the III one. We are working to raise funds to transform it into the building meet the modern requirements”.
Rector also emphasized that he knew what kind of negative facts were observed: “I know each teacher’s potential. I also know well what the students are dissatisfied with. We are working on these problems at the moment. I sincerely note that no negative situation is observed during the exams”.
He also noted that the International School of Economics has been created at the university: “All subjects on 5 majors are taught in 3 languages. In addition, admission plan on 7 majors at MBA Program has been ordered this year. We intend to implement cadres’ training on 10 specialties including 3 majors on graduate education. We direct our main strength to foreigners. We have significantly increased the tuition fee to be charged. Thus, MBA tuition fee for overseas students is 4000 dollars. For Azeri students the figure is 3000 AZN. At present, about 400 foreign students are studying at the university”.
Rector also highlighted that 18 thousand students are studying at the university and approximately 4000 students graduate from the university each year.
